About Amnéville Zoo
‘Zoo d’Amnéville’ or Amnéville Zoo is a zoo with a difference. It’s privately owned and the result of a friendship and a love of animals. It’s home to over 2000 animals from 360 different species from around the world and is definitely worth visiting. It’s actually one of the most popular and impressive zoo’s in France!
The zoo is split into multiple habitats which replicate the animals natural living environments and they include the following zones:
- Animals of the Forest: Here you will find Brown Bears & Lynxes hanging out in their wooded area. Casually relaxing and watching as visitors stroll by!
- Kids Zone: A firm family favourite, the kids zone allows visitors to get up close and personal with some of the zoo’s friendly residents, which include cheeky goats, sheep, wallabies and guinea pigs! You can pet them, you can feed them and generally get to know them!
- North American Land: In this section you will find polar bears, arctic wolves, otters and more.
- Feline Territory: This section is home to the big cats of Amnéville Zoo and that includes firm favourites such as panthers, lions and tigers, amongst others.
- The Tropical Jungle: Home to crocodiles, gorillas, wild dogs, porcupines and a few other friends!
- The Asian Jungle: Where you will find orangutans, gibbons and siamangs swinging around, or being lazy!
- The African Reserve: Is home to the popular giraffes, as well as zebras, cheetahs and others!
- South American Land: You will find some noisy penguins, more monkeys, as well as jaguars and tapirs.
- Bay of Sea Lions: Is the fun pool area where you will find them either basking in the sunshine or splashing around in the water having fun!
- Predators of the Sky: This enclosure is home to birds from various species and of all sizes large and small.
- Splash Zone: A new area with pools and fun where you can cool off during the summer months! Don’t forget to bring your swimming costume!
