ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo in the heart of Amsterdam is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in Europe.

Planetarium: the zoo has a state-of-the-art planetarium which offers daily shows, taking you on a fascinating journey through the universe!
Forest House: is a fun indoor but open enclosure set up as a forest where the animals roam freely, so yes, they can walk straight past you! The section is home to species including emperor tamarins, sloths, porcupines, pygmy marmosets, sakis and various birds. A space to enjoy and listen to the beautiful birdsong and even possibly have a porcupine walk past you!
Micropia: is a unique section of the zoo which is dedicated to microbes! You can learn about the unseen organisms that shape life on Earth! A fascinating section and something that not all zoo’s offer! Entry to Micropia does require a separate ticket, its not included in standard zoo entry ticket. Botanical Gardens: is an area with a large collection of trees and rare plants that offers a peaceful escape within the zoo. A section that garden lovers enjoy.
