About the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA)

The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, or MACBA for short is located in the Raval district in Barcelona. The building was designed by American architect Richard Meier and the building itself is a prime example of contemporary architecture.

The museum collection primarily focuses on the second half of the 20th century and includes works by both local Catalan artists and international artists and offers paintings, sculptures, photography, as well as more modern forms such as video and other installations.

The permanent collection is made up of around 3000 works including pieces by:
