About Bioparc Fuengirola
Bioparc Fuengirola is one of the new types of zoo where the animals are the central focus, and offering an immersive experience that feels more like stepping into a tropical rainforest rather than visiting a traditional zoo.
Home to over 200 species from tropical and subtropical regions, Bioparc Fuengirola, in our opinion, is a must-visit for families, nature lovers, and wildlife enthusiasts.
Bioparc Fuengirola replicates the animals natural habitats, allowing them to thrive as they would in the wild. You can even see some of the world’s most endangered animals, including Sumatran tigers, Borneo orangutans, and pygmy hippopotamuses at Bioparc Fuengirola!
The zoo is divided into different zones, with each being home to animals that naturally live there. The zones include:
- Equatorial Africa: A naturally wet environment that is home to flamingos, ducks, antelopes, gorillas, monkeys, crocodiles, lizards, pygmy hippopotamus and much more!
- Southeast Asia: An abandoned mine and a replica UNESCO temple, where you will find orangutan’s, various different species of birds including hornbills. Binturong, giant tortoise, gibbons, lizards, the majestic Sri Lankan leopard, otters, Sumatran tigers, tapirs and more.
- Madagascar: Replicating the island of Madagascar, you will find various breeds of lemurs here.
- Central & South America: An aquatic themed area that is home to animals that live in or near the water.
- Indo Pacific: Home to the mighty Komodo dragon! You will also find other lizards here, both large and small, along with the famous Galapagos giant tortoise and other various different species of birds.
