The Danube Tower (Donauturm) in Vienna is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and offers amazing views of the city, surrounding Vienna Woods, and the beautiful Danube River from its observation platforms!
The tower, which dates back to 1964, stands proudly at 252 metres (827 feet) tall and is Austria’s tallest tower and because of the views it offers, is one of the most popular attractions in the city.
The tower has two observation decks (an indoor one and an outdoor one) at a height of 155 metres, a rotating restaurant, and a café where you can enjoy the panoramic views. It has two high speed elevators to transport you up and down in just 35 seconds!
The towers rotating restaurant sits at 170 metres and gives you amazing views as you dine! It takes the restaurant 26-minutes to complete a rotation, so you can enjoy 360-degree views without having to move! The cafe in the tower sits at 160 metres, where you can enjoy a coffee and a pastry whilst looking at the amazing views!
Danube Tower is now offering Europe's highest slide! The starting point is 165 metres up and you slide down at a 29 degree angle along a 40-metre long tube track to the finish which is still 150 metres high. It takes around 10-seconds and you can enjoy the views as you slide down!
At the bottom of the tower, there is also a snack and drink area where you can enjoy a beer that has been specially brewed just for the tower, called the Donaubräu!
