Take in Rotterdam from above and relax in the world-class restaurant
The Euromast is Rotterdam's iconic landmark and observation deck. The structure stands at 185 metres (607 feet) tall and offers amazing panoramic views of the city and beyond, making it one of the city's most popular tourist attractions.
The tower was constructed between 1958 and 1960 in order to celebrate the 1960 'Floriade' flower and garden exhibition that was held in the Netherlands. It was designed by Dutch architect Hugh Maaskant, and its sleek, modern design reflected the optimistic spirit of the post-war era. The tower was actually initially only 101 metres tall, but in 1970 the 'Space Tower' was added which increased its height to 185 metres, and in doing so, they made it the tallest building open to the public in Rotterdam!
The Euromast’s observation deck stands at 96 metres and offers a 360-degree view of Rotterdam's skyline, including the busy port and harbour, and the surrounding landscape. On clear days, you can see as far as The Hague and even Antwerp in Belgium!
For an even higher vantage point, you can opt to go in the Euroscoop which is a rotating glass elevator that takes you to the top of the Space Tower at 185 metres! You can sit and enjoy the incredible views, and for those brave enough, look down through the glass floor - or press the button to cover it up!
The Euromast also has a brasserie located at 96 metres (booking is required), where you can enjoy a meal or a drink while taking in the amazing views! Or, for those brave enough, the Euromast even offers the chance to abseil down it!
