Welcome to Keukenhof, famously known as the "Garden of Europe" and home to the annual Tulip Festival which takes place from mid-March to mid-May each year, when over 7 million bulbs are planted that go on to create amazing displays of colour and beauty!
To ensure a continuous bloom throughout the 10-week show, Keukenhof's gardeners begin planting the bulbs in October of the previous year. The flowers are carefully arranged not just by colour but also by height and size, which results in carefully manicured displays of beauty. The gardens also feature a wide variety of other plants and flowers with them all serving as a 'living catalogue' for the flower growers and bulb sellers.
The Keukenhof 2026 show, which runs from 19th March through to 10th May, will be the 77th edition of the flower festival and is anticipated to be more spectacular than ever!
The event is set in the Keukenhof Castle Estate and the flower festival is organized by bulb and flower growers to show their product 'catalogues', but it’s also open to the public for everyone to enjoy and people come to the annual festival from all over the world to enjoy the displays.
Keukenhof is a fantastic destination for families, with plenty for kids to explore, including a scavenger hunt that takes place every year.
