Excellent
Very beautiful place. Worth going. Definitely go when they open at 10:30 as it gets really busy during the afternoon. Would say for animal welfare its the best conservation place I've seen

About Loro Parque

Loro Parque has won the title of “World’s Best Zoo” (according to TripAdvisor) several times, so you know it’s going to be fairly impressive with that title!

The incredibly popular zoo in Tenerife has been welcoming visitors since it opened in 1972 and known for its huge collection of parrots, hence the name (“Loro Parque” translates to “Parrot Park”!). The zoo is now home to around 4000 parrots that live very happily in the huge menagerie!

Over the years, the zoo has transformed into a more comprehensive zoological park and now features a much wider array of species from around the world for visitors to enjoy, including: dolphins, sea lions, orcas and sharks, penguins and monkeys, lions, tigers and jaguars, reptiles, red pandas, turtles, lots of creepy crawlies and other animals too!

Loro Parque has gone all out though and have built Europe’s largest:

  • Dolphin pool
  • Shark Tunnel
  • Indoor Penguin enclosure
  • As well as being only one of two parks in Europe where you can see Orca Whales!

The zoo is also heavily committed to conservation efforts and participates in breeding programs for several endangered species and the park has won numerous awards and accolades for its commitment to animal welfare, conservation and environmental education.

Loro Parque is also famous for its live shows and exhibitions where visitors can enjoy performances by dolphins, sea lions, and parrots, showcasing their intelligence and agility.

The park is designed to provide both entertainment and educational experiences for visitors of all ages.

The park also has beautifully landscaped gardens with walking paths, and themed areas that transport visitors to different parts of the world, such as the "Katandra Treetops" exhibit, which recreates the Australian rainforest habitat.

Loro Parque (in our opinion) is a must-visit destination for people visiting Tenerife.
