It was opened in 1923 and the stadium had a capacity of just 17,000 at the time. It has since expanded and the stadium now has a seating capacity of 49,430 and the tour gives you the opportunity to explore areas that aren't normally open to the public!

- Nickname - "The Cathedral": Mestalla is often called "La Catedral del Fútbol" (The Cathedral of Football) due to its historical significance and intense atmosphere. Its towering, steep stands make it an intimidating venue for visiting teams.
- The Steepest Stands: Mestalla is famous for having some of the steepest stands in European football, creating a unique and intense experience for both fans and players. This steep design amplifies the sound, making it an especially loud and lively stadium.

- A Never-Completed Successor: Valencia CF started construction on a new stadium, Nou Mestalla, in 2007. However, financial issues stopped construction, and Mestalla remains the club's home.
