Tips for Visiting Dubai

  • Respect the Dress Code: Dubai is modern but still follows conservative values. Dress modestly in public places, especially in malls, mosques, and traditional areas. Swimwear is acceptable at the beach and pools.
  • Visit During the Best Season: The best time to visit is November to March when the weather is pleasant. Summers (June–September) are extremely hot, with temperatures exceeding 45°C (113°F).
  • Use Public Transport & Apps: Dubai has a well-connected metro system, taxis, and ride-hailing apps like Careem and Uber. The Nol Card is great for metro, buses, and trams.
  • Be Mindful of Local Laws & Customs: Public displays of affection, drinking alcohol in non-licensed areas, and swearing in public (even online) can lead to fines or legal trouble.
  • Experience the Local Culture: Don’t just stick to modern attractions, visit the ‘Al Fahidi Historical District’, the Dubai Museum, and the Souks (gold, spice, and textile markets) for a taste of old Dubai.
  • Book Tickets in Advance: Dubai’s top attractions like Burj Khalifa, Desert Safari, and Global Village can get fully booked. Booking online in advance can save time and money.
  • Stay Hydrated & Use Sunscreen: Dubai is hot year-round. Always carry water, wear sunscreen, and use sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.
  • Friday is the Weekend Peak Day: Friday is a holy day, so some attractions and markets open later in the day. Expect brunch specials at restaurants and busier malls.
  • Enjoy the Food Scene: Dubai has incredible food, from budget-friendly Shawarma & Karak Chai to luxury dining experiences in the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis.
