The Palacio de Dueñas in Seville is an historic palace renowned for its beauty, its architecture, its rich history and its incredible gardens.
The palace’s history dates back to the 15th century. The palace is named after the Monastery of Santa Maria de las Dueñas, and was originally constructed for the noble Pineda family. Over the centuries it has been passed down through various noble families and used as both private residence and even as a guest house at one point.
In the 20th century, it came into the possession of the ‘Dukes of Alba’, one of Spain's oldest and most distinguished noble families and it’s currently owned by the ‘House of Alba’.
Its architecture is a blend of different styles which reflect its long history of modifications and additions over time. It features elements of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. The palace is characterised by its grand façade, intricate stonework, and beautiful courtyards.
One of the highlights of the Palacio de Dueñas is its extensive gardens which are spread over several acres and include fountains, sculptures, and colourful flowers which visitors can enjoy as they stroll through the gardens and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
