About Paris Zoological Park (Parc Zoologique de Paris)
The Paris Zoological Park is made up of 5 biozones of animals. The zones have been created as a natural and spacious environment for the animals and focuses on replicating their natural habitats, so they are comfortable and helps them to thrive.
You know when you are approaching the zoo as you can normally spot the huge 65-m tall artificial mini-mountain which has become a famous symbol of the zoo, so when you see it, you know you are near the zoo!
The zoo biozones:
- Africa Biozone: Covers around 4.5 hectares and is home to giraffes, tigers, lions, zebras and rhino, meerkats and more! This is the biggest zone at the zoo.
- Amazon-Guyana Biozone: A tropical biozone with plenty of plants and flowers and animals! Here you can see ibis, jaguars, reptiles including green anaconda, colourful birds including macaw, manatee, giant anteaters, tapir and so much more!
- Europe Biozone: In this section you can find glouton (wolverine), lynx, wolves, otters, turtles and more!
- Madagascar Biozone: Home to the famous lemurs, as well as fossa, frogs, tortoise and various other reptiles!
- Patagonia Biozone: Home to the zoos seals, puma's sea lions, penguins and more!
The zoo is home to a fantastic range of animals from around the world, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Its also actively involved in various conservation efforts, including breeding programs for endangered species, research projects, and education initiatives aimed at raising awareness about conservation issues.
