About Pergamon Museum - The Panorama Exhibition

The main Pergamon Museum is closed for refurbishment until 2027 and the Panorama Exhibit was set up to give visitors an option to visit during the closure of the main museum.

Pergamon Museum: The Panorama exhibit focuses on bringing ancient history to life using modern technology and art. The museum also has around 80 important pieces that have been transferred from the main Pergamon Museum, allowing you to enjoy part of the collection.

The Panorama Exhibit is located a very short distance from Museum Island in Berlin, ensuring that you only have a short walk of around 5-minutes from the main Pergamon Museum.

The central highlight of The Panorama Exhibition is a massive 360-degree panoramic display which was created by artist Yadegar Asisi. The panorama recreates the ancient city of Pergamon during its peak in the 2nd century AD. The display is incredibly detailed and is designed to give you the feeling of standing in the middle of the ancient city, and surrounded by its bustling streets, grand temples, and daily life. The artwork is accompanied by lighting and sound effects that change throughout the day, enhancing the immersive experience.

To enhance it further, around 80 pieces which include statues and other artefacts have been transferred from the main museum's collection and have been placed around The Panorama Exhibit for you to enjoy, making it the best of both, the new digital experience, with original pieces as well.
