About Schönbrunn Zoo

Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna, also commonly known as Vienna Zoo, is the world's oldest continuously operating zoo, having been founded way back in 1752! The zoo is home to the A-Z of the animal kingdom, from Anteaters to Zebras and lots in between, so it’s a great place to entertain the kids.

The zoo is in the grounds of the stunning Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the former home of the Habsburg dynasty, so something for the parents to enjoy! The zoo is renowned for its commitment to conservation and animal welfare and offers you a unique blend of history, architecture, and wildlife experiences at the same time!

Architecture fans can enjoy the Baroque architecture of the zoo, particularly the central pavilion, which reflects its 18th-century origins. The zoo has a clever blend of history with modern enclosures designed to mimic natural habitats.
