The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is dedicated to the life and works of the renowned Dutch painter, Vincent van Gogh. It was opened by his nephew, Vincent Willem van Gogh in 1973.
The museum is home to more than 200 pieces by the artist, including paintings, drawings, letters, sketches and other pieces, making it the largest collection of Van Gogh pieces in the world.

In addition to Van Gogh's works, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions that explore various aspects of his life, his influences, and his impact on art history. The exhibitions often feature works by other artists who were contemporaries of Van Gogh or who were inspired by his work.
The museum building itself is a modern architectural masterpiece. It was designed by the Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld and was renovated and expanded in the late 1990s to accommodate the growing collection and to modernise due to its popularity.
