About WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is in the heart of Darling Harbour and offers a fun wildlife experience, bringing you face-to-face with some of the country's most famous animals! Its a great place to enjoy some time no matter your age. Its also mostly indoors, so it's great no matter the weather!
The zoo is home to the "Aussie Big Five": which include: koalas, kangaroos, wombats, platypuses, and freshwater crocodiles. The zoo has a variety of interactive zones that replicate the diverse habitats of the animals that live there. The zone include:
- Kangaroo Walkabout: Where you can see the zoo’s group of Western Grey Kangaroos.
- Koala Rooftop: Home to the zoo's furry koalas and where you can get fairly close to them!
- Wallaby Cliffs: See the agile wallabies in their cliffside habitat where you can see their natural behaviour.
- Devil's Den: See the elusive Tasmanian Devils, which are known for their powerful jaws and very distinctive vocalizations! You know what we mean by that if you’ve heard them!
- Platypus Pools: Watch the enigmatic platypus, which is one of the world's most unique mammals! Their habitat is designed to show off their aquatic prowess.
- Crocodile Billabong: Meet (not literally, don’t worry!) the zoo’s three freshwater crocodiles in a habitat that has been designed to mirror their natural environment.
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo also offers a range of experiences to add your visit
- Breakfast with Koalas Tickets: Enjoy a guided tour and a delicious breakfast alongside the koalas. The experience enables you to gain a better insight into the cuddly creatures’ habits and habitats.
- Keeper Talks and Animal Feeds: You can also enjoy some of the daily presentations that are offered by the zoo’s knowledgeable keepers which allows you to learn more about the animals that live at the zoo, along with the conservation efforts.
The zoo is located in Darling Harbour, which makes it easily accessible by public transport, including ferries, trains, buses, and light rail.
