About Accademia Gallery

The Accademia Gallery, or ‘Galleria dell’Accademia’, in Florence is one of the most famous galleries in the world due to it being home to Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the statue of ‘David’.

Originally founded in the 18th century as the ‘Academy of Fine Arts’ with its purpose being to serve as an educational institution for training artists has grown into one of the finest collections of art in the world and in the process, made it one of Florence’s most visited galleries.

With world famous works on display including:
