Tips for Visiting Florence
Book Tickets in Advance: Popular attractions like the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia (home of David) have long lines, so we suggest pre-booking your tickets online.
Wear Comfortable Shoes: Florence is best explored on foot and its cobbled streets can be tough on your feet, so we suggest comfortable shoes to enjoy it!
Climb for the Views: For the best panoramic views we suggest climbing Brunelleschi’s Dome or Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy an amazing sunset over the city.
Eat Local Dishes: Try ‘bistecca alla fiorentina’ (Florentine steak), ‘lampredotto’ (a traditional tripe sandwich), and ‘ribollita’ (Tuscan bread soup).
Beware of Tourist Traps: Restaurants near major landmarks can be overpriced so we suggest heading to Oltrarno or Sant’Ambrogio for more authentic and possibly affordable food.
Visit Early or Late: The best time to see attractions like the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza del Duomo can be early in the morning or later at night if you want to try and avoid the crowds.
Respect Church Dress Codes: Many churches, including the Duomo, require modest attire (covered shoulders and knees). Please remember that they are religious buildings as well as tourist attractions.
