Enjoy an oasis of exotic animals in the heart of Rome. Perfect for kids and adults!
The Bioparco di Roma in the beautiful Villa Borghese estate has transformed over the years from just a zoo with exotic animals into a place where you can learn about the animals and their natural habitats and also about the conservation programs they are involved in. The zoo is spread over around 42 acres and is home to over 1,000 animals from more than 100 species, ranging from big cats and primates to birds and penguins!
The park has designed the habitats to mimic the animals own natural environments, to ensure they can thrive and live comfortably at the zoo. You know this works when the animals start to have babies as it means they feel comfortable. Bioparco Roma has welcomed many babies over the years, but most recently a Sumatran tiger and a rare Grevy's zebra were both born at the zoo, which is amazing!
You can stroll along the paths and get close to animals that include hippos, white rhinos, giraffes, tigers, bears, leopards, snakes, birds, monkeys, penguins, sea lions and MORE!
Bioparco di Roma - a great day out that all can enjoy!
