About Lion Country Safari

Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida, is a unique destination that combines the excitement of a drive-through safari, a zoo and the fun of a traditional amusement park, and is one of the state’s top attractions!

Drive-Through Safari Park

Part of the park allows you to see wild animals roaming freely in their naturalistic habitats as you drive around a 4-mile stretch in your vehicle. Just remember in this section you MUST keep your windows up and you MUST stay in your car.

The drive-through safari is split into 7 different habitats, which include:
  • Las Pampas Section: Where you can see Brazilian tapir, alpaca, tortoises & Greater rhea.
  • Ruaha National Park Section: Where you can see Greater kudu, impala and ostrich.
  • Kalahari Bushveldt Section: Where you can see Eastern bongo, gemsbok, Nile lechwe, ostrich, waterbuck & wildebeest.
  • Gir Forest Section: Where you can see Asiatic Water Buffalo, blackbuck, Lowland nyala, nilgai & Scimitar-horned Oryx.
  • Gorongosa Reserve Section: Where you can see African Lions
  • Serengeti Plains Section: Where you can see Common eland, common waterbuck, impala, Marabou stork, ostrich, Watusi/ankole cattle & wildebeest.
  • Hwange National Park Section: Where you can see chimpanzees, giraffes, greater kedu, zebra, Southern white rhino & White handed gibbons.

Zoo Side of Lion Country Safari

The park also has a zoo side, where you can get a little closer to some of the animals and even feed them! The zoo is home to many different species of exotic birds, including macaws, lorikeet, flamingos, cranes, and many more, as well as porcupines, hedgehogs, goats, sheep and other primates.

They’ve also got a great reptile section that includes alligators, snakes, lizards and many more tortoises!

Lion Country Safari - Petting Zoo

We love petting zoos! They are such a great way to introduce some of the more domestic animals to the younger visitors, having said that, I’m always the first one there and I’m not so young!

Rides & Attractions

Lion Country Safari also incorporates a theme park in the estate where you can have even more fun! With various rides and even water fun!
