Tips for Visiting Florida
Pack for Warm Weather: Florida is hot and humid for most of the year so we suggest packing lightweight clothing, sunscreen, and a hat.
Prepare for Rain: Although it is mostly hot and humid, afternoon thunderstorms are common, especially in summer so bring a lightweight rain jacket or umbrella!
Stay Hydrated: Given the hot and humid temperatures, the heat can be intense, so carry water with you to avoid dehydration.
Beware of Bugs: Mosquitoes are a nuisance so use insect repellent.
Rent a Car: Florida is huge and public transport can be limited so a car is the easiest way to explore.
Toll Roads: There are a lot of roads in Florida that have tolls so have cash or a ‘SunPass’ for convenience.
Theme Parks: If you are planning on visiting one of the theme parks in Florida, we suggest arriving early as it can help to beat the crowds.
Beaches: For family-friendly beaches, try Clearwater or Siesta Key. For nightlife, try South Beach in Miami.
Rip Currents: Swim in designated areas and follow lifeguard instructions to help staying safe whilst in the water.
Everglades: If you are visiting the Everglades, we suggest taking an airboat tour to see alligators and other wildlife! They are lots of fun! Click HERE to see a good option.
Wildlife: Remember, you may see alligators in public places - keep your distance.
Hurricane Season: Hurricane season runs from June to November, so avoid it if you can.
